Build It Forward

Depot59 collects unused LEGO from local families, collectors, cleanouts, and bulk lots — then turns it into cleaned, sorted build boxes for Tampa Bay kids, families, seniors, and memory care residents who will actually build with it.

Where the LEGO Goes

Kids and families first.

Most donated LEGO is sorted into build boxes, family boxes, senior activity kits, and memory care programming bins — delivered directly to local kids, families, seniors, and memory care residents where LEGO can create meaningful play, creativity, cognitive engagement, comfort, or connection.

When we partner with organizations — select classrooms, churches, hospitals, therapy centers, senior living, memory care programs, and youth organizations — we prioritize groups that can get LEGO directly into the hands of kids, families, seniors, and memory care residents quickly and responsibly.

We don't route donations through national secondhand chains. Every brick stays local. Wesley Chapel. Pasco. Hillsborough. Pinellas.

Generous, but intentional.

We don't run public first-come-first-served "free LEGO" handouts. Every recipient goes through a short nomination process so donated LEGO gets matched with kids and families where it will actually be built with.

Questions

What people usually ask.

How do I donate LEGO?

Fill out the pickup form on the Schedule a Pickup page. Tell us roughly what you have and where you are, and we'll email or text within 24-48 hours to schedule a pickup at your house.

Do you really pick up?

Yes. We pick up. Leave it on your porch or driveway, we'll grab it — you don't even need to be home. Or hand it off in person if you prefer. Your call.

What LEGO do you accept?

Loose LEGO bricks, complete sets, partial sets, minifigures, manuals, sorted or unsorted bulk bins, sealed sets, storage-lot overflow, estate cleanout LEGO. The only thing we won't take is dirty, moldy, chewed, or broken pieces.

Do you give directly to kids and families?

Yes — direct build boxes for individual kids and families are the primary path. Every recipient goes through a short nomination form so it stays intentional and fair.

How do nominations work?

Fill out the Nominate a Kid or Family form. We review personally within 7 days and match donations by age, location, safety, and available inventory.

Are all nominations approved?

No. Donations depend on available inventory, location, age range, safety, and overall fit. We prioritize where LEGO will have the most meaningful use.

Can organizations apply?

Yes, but at lower priority than direct kid/family nominations. We partner with select churches, schools, hospitals, therapy centers, and youth programs that can responsibly use or distribute larger recurring donations. Submit an organization request.

Are donations tax-deductible?

Yes. Build It Forward operates under Depot59, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Check the box on the donation form to request a written tax receipt — we email it after pickup.

Are you affiliated with LEGO?

No. Depot59 is not affiliated with or endorsed by the LEGO Group. LEGO® is a trademark of the LEGO Group.
